It is the mission of the Association of Batterer Intervention Providers to encourage safe and effective policies, procedures and programs among batterer intervention providers by:
|seeking and utilizing feedback from formerly battered women and battered women’s advocates;|
|educating batterer intervention providers about the strengths and weaknesses of the various approaches to intervention and be open to challenges to our own perspectives and practices;|
|openly communicating with other family violence intervention organizations about the work of the members of the association;|
|collaborating with other agencies and disciplines for the implementation of a coordinated community response to battering; and,|
|conducting coordinated community education about battering and batterer intervention.|
